An internationally acclaimed performer, composer and teacher, Gary Ryan has been a Professor at the Royal College of Music since he was 27 and is passionate about challenging the public's perception of the Classical Guitar. With his charismatic and engaging platform style, Gary's concerts have been exceptionally well received, not only by guitar enthusiasts but by a wide range of concert audiences less familiar with the guitar.

Gary Ryan's latest CD Worlds Apart features his acclaimed solo work for guitar, Scenes from the Wild West, one of his highly innovative compositions which draw on the rich tradition of the instrument and combine it with many popular contemporary influences and extended instrumental techniques. Subsequent commissions have resulted in several ground breaking works for solo guitar and ensemble which have recently been performed in the USA, Mexico, Italy, Holland and Turkey.

New compositions include Junglescape and Generator.
